I’ve been sitting with my computer in my lap trying to figure out how to type out words about these two, their relationship and this session but it’s not easy because this day was pretty magical and not just because we were in this insanely perfect space, we felt humidity in February in Chicago and it was a workday and we got to be outside of the studio and then we got to go eat an amazing meal before coming back to Madison but because I got to witness these two together, outside of work - their humor, the way they bring comfort for each other, the words to which they whisper in order to burst out laughing. Jen and Jesse have been Jen and Jesse for a long time and I really can’t remember a time when they weren’t a pair even though technically I knew them then and I am so grateful they invited me in to capture them and I cannot wait to see these two exchange vows this fall.

I got to spend a Sunday afternoon with Nicole and Matt in their neighborhood, starting in their adorable home with great snacks and great throw pillows then too a little walk through a park so they can have a drink at their favorite spot, The Warbler. It was kind of cheating to photograph these two because well, they are adorable and they make each other laugh a lot. These two are getting married next fall in Milwaukee and I’m so glad they want me there to document it. Basically, Matt and Nicole for the win.

A few weeks ago I went into the city to meet up with Jes and Jimmy in their neighborhood for a little engagement session. These two will be getting married next May in the city where they met, fell in love and share a space with along with their two dogs - which is the whole reason these two met in the first place - these two met at a dog park, which is basically perfect. We started our session at their favorite bar called Villains for a drink then picked up their pups for a little walk to the nearby park - a perfect day in Chicago.
